The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said a total of 11 people died due to tropical storm Mario, while the number of people injured also increased to 12. The NDRRMC also said 258,976 families or 1,160,050 people in 1,126 barangays in Metro Manila, Cordillera, and in regions 1, 2, 3, 4A, 4B, 5, and 7 were affected by the typhoon. Meanwhile, classes for Sept. 22 were suspended due to floods in Valenzuela City, Ilocos Sur, and Rizal province.
Classes in Santolan Elementary School in Pasig City and in Paniqui Central Elementary School in Tarlac were also suspended since said schools are still being used as evacuation centers.
