Dancing in the Streets Again


Dancers from the BIBAK Association of Manitoba helped celebrate the return of the Manitoba Filipino Street Festival. Manitoba’s Filipino community gathered last weekend at the Philippine-Canadian Centre of Manitoba to celebrate their heritage, culture and cuisine. The festival normally held in June during Filipino Heritage Month were cancelled last year or earlier this year due to COVID-19. The two-day street festival included traditional cultural performances, BIBAK CaƱao, Santacruzan by QPAM, cultural tent display contest, Filipino street food vendors and fireworks were among the many activities over the weekend.
