Commission on Elections (Comelec) spokesman James Jimenez said voting hours might be extended in some polling precincts which suffered a delay in voting.
In a press briefing Monday (May 9, 2016) at their headquarters at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City, Jimenez said that the Comelec had extended voting hours in past elections. He added however that there is no resolution yet as they are still collating reports which will be submitted to the en banc. The en banc has to issue a resolution first authorizing the extension of time if deemed necessary. Comelec data says there are more than 90,000 polling precincts in the country.
