Comedy King plays priest in Filmfest entry

Comedy King Dolphy is playing the role of a priest for the first time in his six-decade showbiz career.

Father Jejemon,” the entry of his RVQ Productions to the 2010 Metro Manila Film Festival shows Dolphy as the character Fr. Jeremiah Jerome Montes, or Fr. Jejemon, who endears himself to the people of the town through his many talents. He plays tock music, organizes talent competitions, and spearheads other activities for the youth.

Also part of the movie story are the characters of Violeta (played by Cherie Gil), her daughter Isabel (Maja Salvador), and the villain Mr. P (played by Roy Alvarez). Also in the cast of “Father Jejemon” are Roadfill and Moymoy Palaboy.

The movie is directed by comebacking Frank Gray Jr. who directed “Omeng Satanasia” for which Dolphy won Best Actor in l977.
