Charges filed against Kidapawan protesters

The Cotabato police filed on April 4, 2016 several complaints against 43 protesters from the towns of Arakan, Antipas, President Roxas, and Magpet, all in North Cotabato who were arrested during the clearing operations along the Kidapawan highway on April 1. The complaints included economic sabotage, harassments, obstruction of traffic flow, and illegal assembly.

Meanwhile, rally organizers are also readying charges of multiple murder, serious physical injuries, and violation of human rights against Cotabato Governor Lala Talino-Mendoza, Senior Superintendent Alex Tagum, and other police and local chief executives. Lawyer Teri Redon, Kabataan party-list representative, said they also would want President Aquino answerable for the deaths and injuries caused by the violent dispersal.
