Celebrities were among top finishers in the third edition of the Skyathon 2012 recently held in Boracay.
In the men’s 10-kilometer division, TV host Rovilson Fernandez clocked in at 55:09.45 to beat 64 others for 10th place. Actor and race car driver Mateo Guidicelli finished the 5-km race in less than 23 minutes to place 8th ahead of 69 participants. Sexy actress and former “Survivor” castaway Aubrey Miles finished 9th in the women’s 5-km division at 37 minutes, beating 53 others.
Other celebrity participants include Troy Montero, Brazilian-Japanese model Daniel Matsunaga and actor Will Devaughn who all finished the 5-km race at under 30 minutes.
Long-distance race veteran Gregg Osorio led the men’s 10-km race while Team Runner Academy coach Mherlz Lumagbas dominated the women’s 10-km division. Meanwhile, Rogie Ascano and Francesca Carpo of Fairview Running Club topped the 5-km divisions for men and women, respectively.
The foot races aim to raise funds for the clean-up of Boracay and instill awareness on the importance of preserving one of the best beaches in the world.
A total of 253 individual runners and 12 pairs for the couples relay joined this year’s edition sponsored by Sky Cable.
