The Philippine Heritage Council of Manitoba (PHCM) Inc. invites everyone to celebrate Philippine Heritage Week 2016 this June 3 to 13, 2016. The date June 12, 1898 is one of the most significant dates in the Philippines’ history because it marks the nation’s independence from foreign rule. Filipinos all over the world celebrate it annually.
This year’s theme is “Magkakaiba, Nagkakaisa” – Embracing Diversity. This year’s theme is a celebration of the diverse cultures, traditions and languages in the Philippines, our Canadian multicultural heritage, our differences in sexual orientation and religious affiliations. This year we would like to specially underline the message of respect and acceptance for all; of working harmoniously with each other; of care and appreciation for one another.
