BB Gandanghari is now ready as a first-time showbiz producer in the stage play “Halik ng Tarantula” under his very own BBG Inc.
BB herself will star in the role of Molina in the brand-new stage production slated on March 7 to 9 at the Teatrino in Promenade, Greenhills.
A translation by noted Filipino playwright, Rene Villanueva of the highly-acclaimed, Pulitzer award winning novel “Kiss of The Spider Woman,” the stage play centers on the life of two inmates of an Argentinean prison during the 1970s.
Award-winning director and veteran actor Soxie Topacio directs the highly charged play for the second time. The play was first staged in 1989 by PETA with Mario O’Hara as Molina and Julio Diaz as Valentin. The current production stars model Jet Alcantara and former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate Jovic Monsod who alternate for the pivotal role of Valentin.
The story focuses on the two cellmates: Valentin Arregui, a leftist revolutionary imprisoned for trying to overthrow the government and Luis Molina, a homosexual imprisoned for allegedly corrupting a minor. The two ended up as close friends that soon develop into something more when Molina falls in love with Valentin.
BB says she is ready on the possibility of getting negative opinions about her intimate scenes with her male co-stars in “Halik ng Tarantula.”
