Broadcaster Arnold Clavio has issued a statement saying he didn’t intend to appear as discriminatory against members of the National Football team popularly known as the Azkals.
The Kapuso news anchor said he was saddened by the negative reactions concerning his statement about the Philippine Azkals with regards to the sexual harassment case filed by Match Commissioner. Cristy Ramos.
Clavio earned the ire of Azkals fans after he called the team insensitive over the manner in which they addressed the sexual harassment complaint against members Lexton Moy and Angel Guirado.
In his statement released March 14, Clavio apologized and admitted that he might have been out of line with his comments during the Monday episode of the morning show “Unang Hirit.”
He, however, reiterated that the sexual harassment complaint ought to be given the full attention by the authorities.
