Angel Aquino joined the growing number of Filipinos calling for the legalization of the medical use of cannabis, more popularly known as marijuana.
The actress and TV host said she personally witnessed that it worked wonders for her epileptic 20-year-old daughter who has been taking marijuana oil in the past few months. Cannabis oil and other forms of marijuana leaves and extract are still illegal in the Philippines.
At least 70 lawmakers led by Reps. Rodito Albano (NP, Isabela) and Leah Paquiz (Ang Nars Partylist), backed House Bill 4477 or the “Compassionate Use of Marijuana Bill.” The bill was presented before the House Committee on Health with medical experts and families of patients appealing for affirmative action on the measure.
