Actor Luis Gonzales died Thursday night of complications due to pneumonia.
A matinee idol in the 50s and 60s, the news of his death was announced by actress Luz Valdez, who said he was confined at the intensive care unit of the Makati Medical Center on the day he died. He was 83.
Television host German Moreno said Gonzales also had kidney complications.
Gonzales will be best remembered for his onscreen team-up with Gloria Romero including in the movie “Iginuhit ng Tadhana: The Ferdinand E. Marcos Story” which was filmed in 1965.
He also worked with the late Nida Blanca in movies.
The actor’s remains were scheduled to be cremated yesterday at the Santuario de San Antonio in Forbes Park, Makati City.
