Consul General Leo Herrera-Lim and Tourism Director Vernie Velarde-Morales announced that the 9th ACGTDT basic tour will be held from July 28-31, 2014, while the optional post tours will run from July 31-August 2, 2014. Aside from the round-trip airfare to and from Manila, the basic tour includes a 4-night stay, on a twin-sharing bases at the Dusit Thani Hotel Manila in Makati City; daily breakfast and two (2) lunches and dinners with cultural shows and airport transfers. Package also includes a running tour of the Manila and Makati area where participants will visit the oldest school in the country, University of Sto. Tomas, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, and Ayala Museum.
The ACGTDT is an annual project of the Philippine Foreign Service Posts in the United States and Canada. It aims to provide the participants with a unique opportunity to visit the Philippines and experience its rich culture and heritage through a specially packaged tour.
The ACGTD tour’s highlight is an audience and a photo opportunity with the President of the Philippines, His Excellency Benigno S. Aquino III. The tour participants will be led on a guided tour of Malacanang Palace museum, and partake lunch in Malacanang Heroes Hall. They will also experience taking part in a historic wreath-laying ceremony at Rizal Park, a rite usually only accorded to visiting Heads of State. Participants will also have an out of town tour to Villa Escudero in Laguna and they also have options for side activities (for an additional fee) like the spa tour, shopping tour and the Manila Ocean Park visit.
The optional Post Tours to provincial destinations from July 31 to August 2, at packaged rates, include tours to: Cebu-Bohol, Aklan-Boracay, Puerto Princesa, Iloilo-Bacolod, CAMSUR-Legaspi, Banaue-Sagada and CDO-Camiguin.
