Vickar Automotive Group tops with $25,000 donation
The poorest of the poor in the Philippines will be happy by the generosity of the Vickar Automotive Group’s donation of a whopping $25,000 at the ANCOP Walk 2017 fund raising event held recently at the Assiniboine Park; by the donation of of CN Railroaders Grants worth $10,250; by the donations of the Couples For Christ Community, friends and relatives.and by partners and donrs like Dr. Tom Colina of Ellice and Pearl Dental Care Group, SPC Cleaning Services, Scotia Bank Winnipeg and C & K Music.
Larry Vickar, CEO and president, Vickar Auto Group Inc, says: “For Tova and I, our sons and Vickar Auto Group Team members, friends and customers to participate in the efforts of a worthy non-government organization like CFC-ANCOP with sweat as well as financial equity is a privilege, as Tova and I know after two visits, the benefits on the ground in the Philippines as well as in India, Kenya and other areas that their educational and home building efforts for the poorest of the poor are directed in such a beneficial manner.” And he adds: “Much thank goes to all of like mind who have participated in any way to make this event so successful.”
Couples for Christ-ANCOP (ANswering the Cry Of the Poor), a faith based organization, has been building homes for the poorest of the poor in the Philippines and also it provides scholarship to children to allow them to improve their lives.
Eli Minglana, CFC ANCOP Area Coordinator, says: “The CFC ANCOP annual fund raising event held last Saturday, August 12, had become a successful event and this proves that regardless of our ethnic background and religious orientation that when it comes to helping the needs of our less fortunate brothers and sisters in the Philippines and in some other parts of the world, we have responded with an open heart, only one heart of giving and sharing.”
And Eli Minglana continues: “Thank you to the continued support of our partners, our major partner, Vickar Automotive Group led by Larry and Tova Vickar, together with their sons Sam and Stephen and families and management staff; to our partners, C &K Music, SPC Cleaning Express Services, Scotiabank Winnipeg, Dr. Tom Colina of Ellice and Pearl Dental Care, Rotary Club of Transcona, and to all our CFC-ANCOP community, donors and volunteers especially to the top solicitors,namely, Terri Villanueva, Grace Picur, Clarita Bagnas, Ruth Pinga Vitug and Roberto Contreras.
Eli Minglana also extended thanks to Emjay Aureada who continuously provided cocktail juice for the children; Steve Lipiscak for his effort in the organization; Winnipeg Financial Group and Greatway Financial Group for providing light breakfast and snack before and after the walk; also to Assiniboine Park Management and CKJS team. He also extended special thanks to Robertson Arlegue and Alyssa Licsi who emceed the ANCOP Walk, to Justony Vasquez and Bea Balagtas for the two naitonal anthems rendition; YFC dancers, Lillibele Simbulan , group singers, Zumba dancers Joh, Boyet and MelB, and to all CFC ANCOP Core team, Gener and Lou Suarez, the financial team, and most of all, the Couples for Christ Community, their families, friends and relatives.

It was the 11th Year of ANCOP Walk which drew more than 1,000 participants. Help is extended not only for the Philippines but also in Kenya, India and Ghana by means of scholarship and providing shelter. The new projects for this year include the granting of at least 500 scholarship grant and the new TOVA VICKAR CFC ANCOP Winnipeg Village in Baliwag, Bulacan.
