Winnipeg’s Got Sole jumped into the big leagues with it’s 4th annual Winnipeg Sneaker Swap & Expo as it participated alongside the U15 and U17 Canada Basketball National Championships earlier this month at the University of Winnipeg.
The U15 & U17 national championships hosted 29 teams from across Canada. The national exposure was a great opportunity to highlight Winnipeg’s Got Sole non-profit charity efforts. Over 150 pairs of used basketball shoes were collected and donated to Basketball Manitoba’s Recycle Program which benefits inner-city youth.
Winnipeg’s Sneaker Swap & Expo annual event continued to bring in local and out-of-town vendors and guests. A “Jerry Legaspi shout-out” goes to Funky Threadz and Red Ronin for their support and giveaways during the expo.
Winnipeg’s Got Sole was established by Frendell Cano, Jerry Legaspi and Johann Generao as a non-profit Winnipeg charity in 2013. The charity is focused on providing safe events and programs to further contribute to the growing Winnipeg sneakerhead scene while promoting charity amongst our community and city.
