204 Neighbourhood Watch received an invite from Bakerite to be the first to taste the first ever ”litson manok” in Winnipeg. On December 14, before heading out in the cold to patrol Tyndall, we feasted on the amazing tasting roasted chicken. Bakerite has been our weekly donor of freshly baked goodies that patrollers snack on after our patrolling walk.
On the 20th and 21st of December, 204 Neighbourhood Watch volunteered to deliver hampers from Christmas Cheer Board. At double digit on those two nights, we felt a biting wind chill. We also realized that it was not as easy as we thought of. We made wrong turn and got lost when our GPS just stopped working because of an incoming call. We were also given an incorrect address. When delivering to apartments, it was hard to describe our exact location and to arrange where we could meet the recipient. We faced each mentioned issue with lots of laughters. We could not describe the happiness we felt when we saw the recipient’s eyes beaming with joy. We will definitely do it again next year.
204 Neighbourhood Watch patrols every week and we need volunteers. Join 204 Neighbourhood Watch Facebook group to see our announcements and updates, or email me at Leilacastro.ca@gmail.com.
