Good evening ladies and gentlemen, friends and family, distinguished panel of judges, and everyone who is joining us tonight. It gives me great pleasure to extend to you all a very warm welcome to tonight’s coronation gala – to the 4th Annual Search for theQueen of the Manitoba Filipino Street Festival!
As the reigning titleholder, I genuinely believe that participating in this pageant during my year is one of the most significant experiences I have involved myself in. To carry this title means having to carry out the many duties of being an Ambassadress – it is embedded not of gold but with great responsibility; the responsibility to serve as the face and spokesperson of this wonderful organization. To hold the role of an Ambassadress comes with the power to help spread the word about the goodness of our ever growing Filipino community, and to educate people about what the underlying purpose of this group – and that is to help bring Filipinos together and honour our beautiful culture. I, for one, cannot be more proud to say that I became a huge part of this celebration.
To all the volunteers, sponsors, and the committee members of the Manitoba Filipino Street Festival, I would like to further recognize each and everyone of you. Your energy, compassion, and dedication to one another makes this a successful organization like no other – thank you, and congratulations to all of you.
By the same token, I would like to especially acknowledge the hard-working team of the Queen Search Committee for a commendable job in organizing tonight’s pageant. The time and effort that was put into tonight’s gala is truly evident.
Finally, I would like to take this moment to congratulate all the stunning and deserving candidates of this year’s Queen Search – you have worked so hard to get this far, and I am so proud of each and everyone of you! To the next Queen of the Festival, take advantage of this opportunity, and remember that this is only the beginning of your beautiful journey.
