It might be February and the events leading up to the 2015 Manitoba Filipino Street Festival are starting to heat up. Along with the Manitoba Filipino Street Festival board of directors and volunteers, Alyssa de Guzman and Julienne Reyes emceed the Breakfast Kickoff to launch the 4th annual Manitoba Filipino Street Festival at Canton Food Gallery last month.
This year’s Manitoba Filipino Street Festival will be on August 22, 2015 at Garden City Shopping Centre on the Sears Garden City parking lot located on the corner of McPhillips Street and Leila Avenue. There are several lead up events to the August 22nd Parade and Street Festival. These events include the Search of the Queen Coronation Evening in July and Tiannge Ng Bayan (Flea Market) in June.
The 2014 Manitoba Filipino Street Festival held last year on Saturday, August 23, 2014 saw 54 community associations, 25 parade floats and over 12,000 people experience the hospitality of the Manitoba’s Filipino community. Last year’s 3rd annual festival definitely provided an opportunity for more community participation as the festival continues to grow year after year.
