The National Youth Movement for West Philippine Sea (NYMWPS) has urged President Rodrigo Duterte to uphold the Philippines’ national sovereignty and territorial integrity, as mandated by the 1987 Constitution.
The youth organization expressed concern that China wanted the Philippines to concede its sovereignty and enter into a joint development in return. In a statement, Dr. Celia Lamkin, NYMWPS founder urged the president to ask China to stop the massive reclamation being done in the West Philippine Sea. It also asked the Philippine government to define foreign policies that protect our territory and environment, develop our economy, and promote the welfare and well-being of the Filipinos.
