Angel Martinez, founding WAAY president retires.
On the early morning of Sunday, November 13th, the WAAY Basketball League opened its 13th year with a massive crowd in attendance for the league opening ceremonies. This year, there are over 30 teams in four divisions in the Bantam, Pee Wee, Tykes and Jr. Tykes divisions. Angel Martinez, the founder and president of WAAY announced his retirement from the league and “passed the torch to the current WAAY committee members to continue what he started 13 years ago. .
Another year of exciting winter basketball is upon us. Games are played every Sunday at Gordon Bell High School until the end of March. For more info, please check waay.ca
