Lace up your skates, the first of many skating surfaces are now open at The Forks with the Canopy Skating Rink.
“This is just the beginning of many fun winter activities to come at The Forks,” said Paul Jordan, Chief Operating Officer, The Forks. “We may not be able to send you to the river for another few weeks, but the Canopy Rink is now open and being groomed daily.”
Still to come in Arctic Glacier Winter Park: 1.2 kilometres of skating trails directly on The Forks site, an Olympic-sized skating rink near Scotiabank Stage, a toboggan run, an ever expanding snowboard facility professionally designed to thrill, and the new Great-West Life Snowman Lounge. Skaters can take a break from the trails on the Historic Rail Bridge and relax on a couch or chair made entirely of snow.
Skate rentals are now open and available at Iceland Skate Rentals located adjacent to the skate changing area. Rates are $3 for children and seniors and only $5 for adults. Skate trainers are also available for $2.
Arctic Glacier Winter Park attractions are free and will be open as they become available from now until March, weather permitting.
