Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte ruled out running for the top post last week after her father accepted PDP-Laban’s nomination to be the ruling party’s vice presidential bet. She said they both agreed that only one of them will run for a national position. After initially keeping distance, on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, Mayor Sara urged her supporters to back her father, President Rodrigo Duterte, in his bid for the vice presidency in the 2022 elections.
The presidential daughter said in a video that she and her father President Duterte have an agreement on their political careers. Urging her supporters to give the strongest support for his decision to run for vice president. Also thanked them who have been pushing her to run for president next year. Go has already declined PDP-Laban’s nomination to be its standard-bearer.
