The Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed that there was no Filipino killed in Syria or Turkey following the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck the two countries recently.
DFA Undersecretary for migrant workers affairs Eduardo Jose de Vega confirmed the good news in a radio interview, adding that there are 60 Filipino in the northwestern Syria where the quake hit.
DFA also confirmed that the Philippine embassy in Damascus is ready to provide assistance to Filipinos affected by the earthquake.
