Last December 21,2019, with an amazing positive 4 deg C temperature to officially start winter season, the Morden Pinoys just celebrated the most wonderful time of the year at the Access Event Center Morden Community Hall.
The “Morden Pinoys Christmas Party and Annual Festivities 2019” was attended by roughly 370 Filipinos (81 Families and 70 individuals) and Special guests.
The program started with special messages coming from Hon. Cameron Friesen(MLA Morden-Winkler) and Morden Mayor Brandon Burley who attended the event together with their respective families. Representatives from The Hub Community Centre were also present as the Morden Pinoys took the opportunity to give back to our loving community.
The program highlighted the talents of Morden Pinoys like: Rance Laus and Roge Trangcoso (Singing Duo) Ferdinand Fave, Keira Cosio, Caasi Brothers Band with Raymund Ona, 4PM Band, and JeroJorgeLouie Band. There were also 3 teams that presented a combined song and dance numbers using remix of Christmas, Filipino novelty, modern and classic songs. The team activity really helped promote camaraderie and showcase the talents among Pinoys in Morden. It was a night of good food where all families brought their specialties for sharing and hearty laughs during the games for both young and adults. Several raffle prizes from the generated fund and generous sponsors were also given away to the lucky families and for the grand prize which is a 40” Last Smart TV it was the Umandal Family who won.
With all the volunteers and attendees that cooperated, it was a celebration with our family in our new found home and everyone looks forward to having this kind of event every year. It was a celebration of giving, meeting new friends, building wonderful memories and tradition in the community, most of all, it was a celebration of remembering the greatest gift that we received and that is the birth of our saviour Lord Jesus Christ.
