Max’s Group Inc. (MGI) is continuing its international expansion by opening a branch in Winnipeg, the capital city of the province of Manitoba.
The company, which operates 175 stores including 27 overseas, said Wednesday it had partnered with Alibin Group Inc., to bring Max’s Restaurant to Winnipeg by 2018. MGI president and chief executive officer Robert Trota said the company welcomes the opportunity to once again serve distinct flavors of home to Filipinos based in Canada. Alibin Group managing director and chief executive officer Hipolito Alibin Jr. for his part said their extensive research showed that the people of Manitoba have been clamoring for a Max’s Restaurant. The Alibin Group is a Winnipeg-based private firm with ventures in retail, food services, accounting, finance and private capital markets, architecture, and information technology.
Currently, MGI operates five stores in Canada located in Vancouver, Toronto, Scarborough and Edmonton. MGI also operates the Yellow Cab and Pancake House restaurant chains. It recently announced a deal to bring 7 branches of another franchise, Sizzlin’ Steak, to the United Arab Emirates over the next 5 years
