Malacañang on Tuesday declared that October 6 will be a regular holiday in observance of Eid’l Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice.
Deputy Presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte announced “The President signed Proclamation 875 on September 12, 2014, declaring Monday, October 6, 2014, as a regular holiday throughout the country in observance of Eid’l Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice”.
Eid al-Adha or the Feat of Sacrifice is an Islamic festival to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim (also known as Abraham) to follow Allah’s (God’s) command to sacrifice his son Ishmael.
