Julienne Reyes – 2014 Street Festival Queen

The Manitoba Filipino Street Festival has a newly crowned queen! Congratulations to Julienne Reyes for capturing the Queen of the Festival crown and the honour of representing the Manitoba Filipino Street Festival for 2014-2015. Maria Nelissa Lastimosa for 1st runner up and Rochelle Ann Ilagan Cabagiuio for 2nd runner up.

The 2014 Queen of the Festival Coronation evening at Canad Inns Polo Park was a huge success due to the countless volunteers and sponsors. The hosts of the evening festivities was the love team of Rhia Alcantara and Roldan Sevillano.

The task of selecting the 2014 Queen of the Festival came down to the seven judges. The judging panel included Tia Polvorosa of Provici Cosmetics; Myla Ibabao – 1st runner up 2013 Queen of the Festival; Romilyn Davila Lacap, 1984 Miss Philippines Manitoba; Manny Trawon, Director with the MFSF; Jarrett Beyko, General Manager of Jim Gauthier Chev; Miss Angel Bhatal, a beauty Queen, 2nd runner up Miss Earth Canada; and Mr Gil Buenaventura, Director of Magdaragat Philippine Folks Arts.

Entertainment throughout the evening included opera performances by Jan Nato, a special vocal presentation by Gloria de Paz-Hryniuk, Azel Navarro and Grace Ann Panganiban. During the final walk of 2013 Queen, Alyssa de Guzman was accompanied by a musical rendition on saxaphone by Jomar de Leon.

The entire evening was planned and organized by the MFSF Pagean Committee headed by Alyssa De Guzman, Orlando Sanche , Roldan Sevillano, Myla Ibabao, Frances Magnaye, Angelica Ilagan and Ester Camuyong. Thanks to the various teams behind the scenes that made the coronation night happen: Jun Oquendo and his technical sound and lights team, dance choreographer, make up artists, ushers, security, escorts, auditors – Rody Capistrano and Orlando Buduhan, judge/scoring tabulator – Norman Padilla, decorations by Natalie Fajardo and sponsors, guests and everyone that supported the coronation night festivities.
