Health Workers from 4 Metro Manila Hospitals First to be Given Covid-19 Vaccine

The first to receive Covid-19 shots will be health workers from four Covid-19 referral hospitals located in Metro Manila as soon as the vaccines will arrive within this month.

According to Carlito Galvez, Jr., Handler of Vaccine Procurement for Government’s Coronavirus Response and Head of National Task Force against Covid-19, the four hospitals are:
• Lung Center of the Philippines
• Philippine General Hospital (Manila)
• East Avenue Medical Center (Quezon City)
• Dr. Jose Natalio Rodriguez Memorial Medical Hospital (Caloocan City)

Galvez further said that they will be conducting a 2-3 day inspection among all hospitals then begin administering the vaccines thereafter.

Following the four hospitals are other Covid-19 referral hospitals located in Metro Manila, Cebu City and Davao City.

Last month, the government has stated that its priority for vaccination are 1.7 million health workers all over the country. Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire stated that come February 15, the master list of healthcare workers to be vaccinated will be ready.

Next in the priority line are indigent senior citizens, other elderly citizens and uniformed personnel.
