Eraserheads’ Ely Buendia and his backing band will play Winnipeg this October 4 at Club Regent Event Centre. The setlist will consist mainly of classic songs by Buendia’s former band Eraserheads. So, attendees can expect hit songs that include “Ligaya,” “Pare Ko,” “Magasin,” “Alapaap,” and “Ang Huling El Bimbo.”
Ely Buendia’s backing band is composed of seasoned Philippine musicians who are also artists in their own rights:
Nitoy Adriano (guitars) – of The Jerks and The Oktaves
Mayo Baluyut (bass) – solo artist and songwriter
Ryan “Gox” Goan (keyboards) – of Domino
Wendell Garcia (drums) – of Barbie’s Cradle and Pupil
Opening Ely Buendia’s concert are Winnipeg’s own local bands such as the Alternative Rockers Lykosa and The 12/21 and the Hip-hop group Santribo, which also features the now Winnipeg-based Konflick (formerly of the Philippine Hip-hop group Death Threat).
This show was brought to North America by the efforts of Diane Ventura (EB Management, DVent Productions); Day Cabuhat; Le-Van De Guzman, Haro De Guzman, and Bojie Yangco (MCY Entertainment), and of course, Winnipeg’s local producer Marby Gutierrez (Pinoy Tribe Entertainment).
