6th Annual Fried Chicken Fest – January 11-21, 2023

The 6th Annual Fried Chicken Fest is in the books. Participating restaurants in the Fried Chicken Fest offered a wide variety of unique and delicious fried chicken dishes during the 10-day-long food festival. From classic southern-style to contemporary fusion creations, there was something for every fried chicken lover to enjoy.

Forty-three Winnipeg restaurants participated in the festival, each showcasing their own unique spin on the beloved “fried chicken”. Some restaurants served classic buttermilk fried chicken, while others presented creative twists such as 24K gold encrusted chicken wings, or even vegan fried “chicken” options. Attendees were able to sample a wide range of flavors and styles, from spicy and bold to sweet and savory.

The presentations of the dishes were just as diverse as the flavors. Some restaurants served their fried chicken in traditional baskets lined with parchment paper, while others presented their creations on stylish platters or in creative sandwiches.

The festival was not only a treat for the taste buds but also a showcase of the culinary talents of the participating chefs and their respective restaurants. The festival encouraged chefs to push the boundaries of traditional fried chicken and present dishes that truly showcased their culinary skills and creativity. Fried chicken lovers were thrilled to have the opportunity to try such a wide range of flavors, styles, and presentations.

Fried Chicken Fest goers were encouraged to try as many dishes as they could and vote for their favorite online on the official festival website. Winners will be announced on the Fried Chicken Fest website.
