In 2021, 2,418,000,000 pounds* of potatoes were grown right here in Manitoba! That’s almost 20% of the nation’s potatoes are grown here in the keystone province. So, let’s do something with them.
Peak of the Market is pleased to announce the fourth annual Potato Week will run for 10 days: February 4-14, 2022.
A brand-new website can be found at potatoweek.com and will be updated with the restaurants that will be participating as well as their creative potato dishes.
There is no fee for restaurants to participate. Peak of the Market Growers know the last few years have been beyond difficult and they want to continue to help. We’re pleased once again to be able to send each participating restaurant 100 lbs. of potatoes as a “thanks” for participating.
“We’ve all seen and heard the toll the pandemic has taken on so many restaurants. Growers want to help get diners back into restaurants, so restaurants can keep doing what they love to do, feed diners!” said Pamela Kolochuk, CEO, Peak of the Market. “Manitoba potatoes are some of the best in the world! Having them turned into creative dishes for everyone to enjoy is what this week is all about. We’re excited to see Manitoba potatoes back in action.”
Restaurants have got it all from melts to poutine to donuts to ice cream and even Potato Beer will be featured on local menus.
