Caption: It was a packed house at “A Night for the Music Man,” a tribute concert for a great community leader, the late Mar Mance, last December 8th at Essence Event Centre McPhillips. The freezing cold did not stop the families, friends and the people whom Mar have inspired, from witnessing his legacy through music and a good cause. The concert featured OPM Legend Mike Hanopol and Winnipeg’s local artists who performed Mar’s favourite songs as they commemorated how the music man had inspired them in many ways. Headed by Mar’s wife, Vangie Mance, the Mario T. Mance P. Eng Memorial Scholarship, in cooperation with Filipino Members Chapters-Engineers Geoscientist and Filipino Canadian Technical Professional Associaiton of Manitoba, have presented their first batch of scholars namely Gympson Agravante, Joseph Magtoto, Dean Kenneth Bundalian and Jocelyn Domingo who have received grants to continue and upgrade their studies in Engineering.
