The all new redesigned 2015 Ford Mustang Ecoboost is an absolutely stunning vehicle to drive in the winter. Too bad winter is over!
Thank you Ford! Finally, a sports car with studded winter tires! In the past, manufacturers would just bring cars to Winnipeg in the winter and most of the time, keep the factory all-season tires on the vehicle. When you are used to driving a vehicle with winter tires, having a set of performance studded winter tires on a Mustang was a blessing. This would be the perfect winter car for our harsh prairie winters.
The 2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost came equipped with Nokian Hakkapelliita 8 studded winter tires. This was my first time driving a sports car with studded tires. I’ve been a huge proponent of winter tires but with the rear wheel drive and 310hp under the hood, the studded tires were such a joy to drive with in the winter. I noticed better performance and handling on the snow covered streets of Winnipeg.
The Ford Mustang EcoBoost was equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission and made driving so much more fun. Did I mention rear wheel drive? Yes, rear wheel drive and turning off traction control features brought a little more excitement to running errands around the city and backroads in the country. Under the hood sits a turbocharged 2.3L 4cylinder Ecoboost engine and pumps out 310 horsepower and 320 ft.lbs. of torque.
The Ford Mustang EcoBoost came in bright Race Red finish and against the backdrop of cloudless blue prairie sky and white snow, the car was beautiful to look at. The aggressive front end with sharp body lines that carry along the side of the Mustang are gorgeous. The raised creases on the hood give the impression that there’s a beast of an engine sitting inside. The elegantly styled front headlights also accentuate the Mustang’s aggressive front look.
Optional equipment that came with the 2015 Ford Mustang Ecoboost I4 Coupe included EcoBoost Performance package, Recaro cloth seats and security package. Base sticker price was listed at $27,999. Total options was $5,800 and total price as tested was $33,799.
