Anti-pork barrel protesters said they gathered an estimated 10,000 signatures during the launch on Monday of the people’s initiative against lump sum allocations in the proposed P2.6-trillion national budget.
Rallyists gathered at the Luneta to protest the inclusion of lump sum funds in the appropriations bill for 2015 and to start collecting six million signatures for a law that will make criminal the allocation of presidential and congressional pork barrel.
Renato Reyes of Bagong Alyansang Makabayan said that they will also bring the anti-pork signature campaign in communities, school, universities, churches and houses to gather more signatures to reach the target six million signatures.
