Winnipeg Jets add Stastny and Morrow before NHL trade deadline

The Winnipeg Jets are all-in for their playoff run in a blockbuster trade with the addition of centreman Paul Stastny from the St. Louis Blues, and Joe Morrow from the Montreal Canadiens.

Paul Stastny will bring more experience and depth to the centre position and during his first game, was paired with Nickolai Ehlers and Patrik Laine. Dustin Byfuglien on Stastny joining the Winnipeg Jets commented, “He’s an all around good guy for the room. Off-ice and on-ice, he’s good.”

Stastny and Morrow’s first game as Winnipeg Jets were against division rivals Nashville Predators earlier this week at Bell MTS Centre. It was a wild game with 7 goals in the 2nd period and the Jets leading 4-3 heading into the 3rd period. The Jets lost 6-5 with a late goal by the Predators and Paul Stastny ended with a goal and assist in his debut game.

The Jets currently sit 3rd in the Western Conference behind the Predators and Knights. The next Jets game is at Bell MTS Centre against the Detroit Red Wings on Friday night.
