One of the enduring and prolific Philippine Alternative Rock bands that originated in the ’90s music scene is Parokya ni Edgar. Formed in 1993, in Metro Manila, Philippines, the band is known for its Novelty kind of Alternative music, endearing itself to the masses. Currently comprised by Chito Miranda (lead vocals), Buwi Meneses (bass guitar), Darius Semaña (lead guitar), Gab Chee Kee (rhythm guitar, vocals), Dindin Moreno (drums), and Vinci Montaner (backup vocals), Parokya ni Edgar has released nine studio albums—from 1996’s Khangkhungkherrnitz to last year’s Pogi Years Old¬—which spawned countless hit singles that included “Buloy,” “Inuman Na,” “This Guy’s in Love with You, Pare,” “Mr. Suave,” “Tatlong Araw,” and “Lagi Mong Tatandaan.” In promotion of their latest, ninth album, the crew of Parokya ni Edgar are touring North America. Fortunately, Winnipeg is one of the destinations. On March 26, the wacky band will be performing at Garrick Centre, in Downtown Winnipeg. Watch them and purchase copies of their new, 21-track album. The Winnipeg leg of the forthcoming Parokya ni Edgar’s tour is produced by Marby Gutierrez and his Pinoy Tribe Entertainment. For tickets and inquiry, contact Marby at 204-962-2903.
