OFSAM celebrates its 40th annivesary

The Original Filipino Senior Association of Manitoba recently celebrated its 40th anniversary with a crowning of OFSAM Queen Clarita Ortega Nazario and the induction of the new set of officers and board of directors at the dinner-dance at Viscount Gort.

Greetings and acknowledgement were given by Letty Antonio, OFSAM president and the National Anthem of the Philippines and Canada were performed by Zeny Calimlim-Fronda. During the crowning of OFSAM Queen Clarita Ortego Nazario escorted by her grandson Roemer Nazario and MLA Andrew Smith, ceremonies followed.

Corsage was given by MLA Bernadette Smith & Manoj Norwang of the City of Winnipeg’s Citizen Equity Committee. Pinning of the sash was rendered by Councilor Cindy Gilroy and Wade Parker. Bouquet of flowers was handed by Julie Javier and MLA Andrew Smith; followed by another bouquet of flowers from Mel and Rochelle Buenaventura. Crown by Carrie de la Cruz and NDP MLA Leader Wab Kinew. Trophy was handed by Tony and Letty Antonio; and gifts were given by Carrie de la Cruz and Lorie Fernandez, and members of Clarita’s family.
