The results are in. The Automobile Journalist Association of Canada (AJAC) announced the Canadian Car of the Year last November in Toronto. The results from the 4-day industry evaluation period called “TestFest” resulted in over 1,900 test drives by over 71 of Canada’s top automotive journalists. Based on all the test drives, and intensive evaluations at TestFest, the results were complied by KPMG.

Best New Sports/Performance Car (under $50,000): Volkswagen Golf R
Best New Sports/Performance Car (over $50,000): Mercedes-AMG C 63 S
Best New Prestige/Performance Car: Mercedes-AMG GT S
Best New SUV/CUV (under $35,000): Mazda CX-3
Best New SUV/CUV ($35,000 – $60,000): Kia Sorento
Best New SUV/CUV (over $60,000): XC90 Volvo
