“We are one!”, my 204FM co-administrator Elaine Tumbokon emphasized in her speech at the 204 Filipino Marketplace Second Annual Family Fun Day on July 29 at Assiniboine Park. It was a fun filled event! Attendees came with potluck food, and also sampled the delicious specialty dishes donated by the generous food business owners. More than a hundred donated prizes were raffled off. Just like in the previous year, emcees Charry Ibanez and Jopay Alnas once again brought laughter and entertainment to the crowd. Young girls Sherilyn Padua and Yzabelle Gonzalves showcased their talents through song performances. By evening, John Zumba led the group dance to burn the calories gained from the feast. Edwin Sonsona travelled with his family all the way from Steinbach to provide the sound system while Philip Cruz of Fil-Canadian Auto Repair provided the portable generator. People lined up on the free photobooth courtesy of Funshots. Mabuhay TV was there for the media coverage of the event. Truly, we are one wonderful community, as reflected by how we all worked together and how we all supported the 204FM to make this event possible.
As one community that focuses on the positive things, it must be the key why our group came this far and grew this big. A lot of good things have been initiated from the 204FM group, one is the 204 Neighbourhood Watch that was formally launched 2 months ago. A strong Filipino group with now 34,000 members connected through social media, 204 Filipino Marketplace is for all of us to leverage for anything that will be beneficial to our families and our community.
Way to go 204FM!
